Treat Yourself Without Food

reynolds choc logFood food food! Most of us love going out for a lovely meal. Succulent steak, or a fresh and clever vegetarian dish! Either way, most of us love sitting down to an incredible meal.

Why are most Australian’s hooked on the Reality TV Show MasterChef? Because “it’s ordinary cooks making extraordinary food!”

When I talk to people about Self Care and helping them to learn how to value themselves, one thing I ask is “how do you like to treat yourself?” Two main responses are common:

Coffee – I love a good coffee!

Food – I love going out for breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert.

This is a great start and we need to be valuing ourselves more and more in our society. Sometimes food can become a comfort factor. Something we swarm to when things are tough and it brings us comfort. Therefore, the next question I explore is “If you could treat yourself without food, what would you do?”

That’s my Self Care Tip for you today. Treat yourself this week, by doing something that doesn’t involve food.
