13 Days of Self Care – Eat Chocolate
I would like to introduce you to the 13 Days of Self Care. I have been inspired by a wall hanging I have in my home which gives 13 ideas to spoil yourself and value who you are… This is, in essence what Self Care is.
So apart from it being yummy and now there are all different flavours and brands to choose from… Dark, White, Milk… Crunchie, Salted Caramel, Mint, Snack etc (you get the idea), there is also research that says chocolate is actually good for you.
Without going into all the research – if you want to know more, simply Google Health Benefits of Chocolate, I’m sure you’ll find all you need to know.
The fact is that, if like me, most of us were not allowed to eat much chocolate when we were growing up. I always loved chocolate and so did my Mum! (Love you Mum!). I couldn’t wait for Easter because I knew I would have at least a weeks supply of chocolate and my parents couldn’t tell me not to eat it!
One of my favourite chocolate stories is that when I moved out of home to my own place with house mates, one of the first things I did was buy a block of chocolate to put in the fridge (yes I’m a fridge person), just because I could! I reckon it would have been Cadbury Marble (sad face…. they don’t make that anymore)… Oh well, now my favourite is the new Lindt range and I like Almond the best!
In my “old age” I have warmed to darker chocolate (which I hear is a good thing because apparently dark chocolate is better for you than milk).
So EAT CHOCOLATE is definitely a self care tip. It can have good health benefits, but I like to eat it just because I’m valued and I’m worthy of treating myself!
Go, treat yourself with your favourite chocolate… even if it’s not on sale. Make a cuppa and enjoy every bite, notice the taste, the texture and where your mind and memories take you.
You Are Worth It.
