How to Stop Rushing
The Self-Care Tip today is simple in words, not always simple in execution:
Give Yourself Extra Time
I don’t know about you… One of my pet hates is rushing. Rushing to work, rushing to the shops, rushing to be there on time, rushing, rushing, rushing.
Especially in the morning, give yourself extra time when getting ready. One thing I don’t believe is good for us is rushing. Leaving as little time as possible before having to be somewhere. Pressing that snooze button once, twice, three times or more before finally getting out of bed to get ready for the day. When we leave as little time as possible, our body and mind don’t have the opportunity to rest when we are rushing all the time. Give yourself an extra 10, 20 or 30 minutes in the morning and spend that time sitting and being. I like to sit in a set-aside chair looking out my window sipping a cup of tea for 10-20 minutes before going through my final getting ready routine. It’s in those sitting and being moments that fabulous ideas and special loved ones come to mind.
Rest your mind and body and care for yourself by giving yourself extra time in the morning. Make it part of your morning ritual.
Your body and mind will thank you for it.
