Care for Yourself – Care for Your Leadership
Be the best leader YOU can be.
Who are you?
What do you like?
What do you dislike?
What are your pet hates?
What do you like to do most on your day off?
If you could choose to do anything in your day right now, what would it be?
What are your dreams?
How do you spend your time when you’re not leading?
What does down time look like for you?
How well do you know yourself?
To know yourself is to be the best you, you can be.
To know yourself is to be the best leader you can be.
When you know yourself you are giving the best gift possible to those you lead.
This is why self care, personal and professional well-being and looking after yourself is vital to being the best leader you can be.
We all know that growth in business happens from the top down. It’s the CEO or Head of Department that dictates the vibe, values and culture of a place. This is no different in your business and in your leadership.
When you value yourself, your staff will value themselves and their job. When you value yourself, your customers and clients will feel valued and learn to value themselves and the service you provide.
Intention Awareness Self-Image
These are three key areas that will help you to be the best leader you can be:
Getting Intentional is about being clear on your personal life goals, dreams and direction and therefore also know this in regard to your leadership. To know this personally as well as professionally means that people begin to really get to know you. A great leader is a leader who connects with themselves and with others.
Having Awareness is knowing yourself so you can grow yourself. If you are not growing as a leader, then how can you expect those you lead to also grow. Growth takes time. Awareness is the beginning of change and self awareness is the greatest gift you can give.
A positive Self-Image adds value to yourself, your business and your leadership. Choosing how you see yourself influences how others see you. I once heard a quote that says “The way you treat yourself, sets the standards for others.” – Sonya Friedman
So do you know who you are? Do your staff know who you are? What vibe do your staff get from you and your leadership? Do your staff know what your values are?
When you can answer those questions with confidence it will automatically flow to your customers, clients, staff, family and friends.
What a gift you could give to those around you. Go forth and be the best leader you can be!
