Does Mental Health effect Business?

Anna Doecke Blog

Let’s talk Mental Health and Workplace.

A recent PcW report found that 45% of business leaders recognise that mental health in the workplace is a problem, though 43% of them believe there are more important issues to focus on. By fostering better mental health in the workplace, both businesses and employees stand to benefit – and that is true leadership.

A new initiative of Beyond Blue called HeadsUp is exploring the concept of Mental Health in the workplace and how it effects individuals, company turnover, staff teams, conversations between employee and employer etc.

Click here to read more of the article about how “Ignoring Mental Health Costs $10.9 Billion a year in lost productivity.”

In my years of working in various workplaces I’ve heard similar stories over and over of employee’s who are stressed, challenged and feeling misunderstood in their workplace. HeadsUp is an initiative to help get society and workplaces talking about Mental Health in our companies so that you can be better supported and understood in your workplace.

Many people in society feel stressed, overworked, busy, lost for life direction or are just cruising along believing that this is all that life has to offer. I don’t remember consciously thinking that I too was busy, stressed and overworked, but when my body was so tired and worn out, I had to physically stop. It was then that I began to discover that life doesn’t have to be how it is. I don’t have to have every night out during the week, my weekends don’t need to be full and booked out for weeks and months on end.

Do you feel overworked or stressed? Do you sometimes notice a fleeting thought that there might be more to life than what your current reality is? Do you find yourself dreaming about what could be? Do you feel like life is OK but you find that sometimes something just doesn’t quite feel right?

If that’s you and you want to explore more of what life could look like for you or you may feel like life is generally OK but you want to live a life that is more than OK. If that’s you and you want to talk it through with someone, I’m here to help. Contact me through the contact page to set up an appointment.

Or are you a business owner, CEO or manager in your workplace and something about this article triggered something in you? Feel free to contact me to have a chat and discuss how I may be able to help your business or workplace.
